The stakes were high in the SpiritSong Talent Competition and the Top 5 Finalists were tough competition, but The Upper Room Project came out as the winner gaining a first or second place ranking from four of the judges and earning enough points to put them on top.
This alternative Christian band is ready to bring their creativity and diversity to the stage as opening artist on Thursday, June 25 at SpiritSong at Kings Island, OH. This 3-day festival includes Newsboys, Skillet, Lecrae, Tenth Avenue North, Jeremy Camp, Kari Jobe, for KING & COUNTRY and more!
Thank you to the Top 5 Finalists and to all the artists who competed in this contest. Thank you, as well, to all the fans, family members and friends who voted for their favorites. We owe a huge debt of gratitude to the artists and music industry professionals who selected the winner from the Top 5: for KING & COUNTRY, Jeremy Camp, Newsboys, Sidewalk Prophets and Premier Festivals Director Richard Young!
We are happy to welcome The Upper Room Project to the stage. Here's more about this up and coming band:
The Upper Room Project is an alternative Christian band from Chillicothe, OH, comprised of Halle Elliott, Jay Scott, Noah Elliott, Nick Bradley, and Taylor Wallingford.
These young artists came together as The Upper Room Project a year ago, already acheiving a measure of success they credit to God - from winning first prize at National Fine Arts Festival in August, to releasing their first self-produced EP in February.
Since then, "The Upper Room Project" has done a considerable amount of touring within Ohio, as well as out of state, including Morgantown, WV and The Outer Banks, NC. At the same time, the members were hard at work perfecting their own music to record for their first release. "Keep Moving Forward" was released on February 21, 2015 and contains five original songs written by Jay, Noah, and Halle.
Their music ranges from the dark, electronic feel of "The Blood that I Spilled" to the upbeat, foot-stomping folk of "Marathon." They have been blessed to have the opportunity to perform with artists and musicians such as Eddie James, Holly Miller (Hollyn), Tyler Stump, Major Maughmer, Matt Annon, Noah Toops, Bobby Pfiefer, and Joe Kellough.
Like the title of their EP says, The Upper Room Project is ready to "Keep Moving Forward" and to take new steps to reach a greater audience with the message of the Gospel.
