I'm Sophie Lockhart, and I'm an 18-year-old musician hailing from the not-quite-Dayton suburb known as Kettering, Ohio. Ever since I was a little girl, music has been a part of my life. I always loved to sing, and I learned how to play piano when I was young. However, my passion for music didn't really take off until I picked up a saxophone for the first time, which then led to an acoustic guitar, which then led to songwriting and leading worship and wanting to make a difference in this world the only way I know how. I believe music is profoundly effective. It can reach into anyone's heart and make them feel something they didn't feel before, and that's why I have a desire to use it to enhance God's Kingdom and help others get a glimpse of who He is. Though I'm unsigned and I tend to play coffee shop gigs at random places you've probably never heard of, that's like a dream come true for me. I just want people to hear what I've done and know the One who made it possible. Maybe I'm an up-and-coming Air 1 radio musician, or maybe I'm an up-and-coming college freshman who can play guitar kind of good. Either way, I'm me, and I want people to get something out of this, or it's all in vain.
